I hate spending money on toiletries. Absolutely hate, hate, hate it. Which makes the fact that I love fiddly bath and shower things a bit of a problem. My answer: Penneys!
Their new 'We ♥ Fruit' (I don't really know whether to call it 'We Love Fruit' or 'We Heart Fruit') range of bath yokes appeared in shops sometime earlier in the year, and at 50 cent or €1 a pop I got pretty excited. The range of scents wasn't exactly vast - you can pick from Pomegranate & Watermelon or Kiwi & Lime - but, like I said: a euro. I'm not going to kick up a fuss over the details.
I can't speak for the Kiwi & Lime range, because the radioactive green colour didn't exactly entice me to spend any more money, but I've been using the Pomegranate & Watermelon shower gel, body exfoliator, and body butter for a while now. They're not mind-blowingly amazing, but they're definitely worth what you shell out for them.
Well, actually, the shower gel is as mind-blowing as any shower gel I've ever used... which is to say that it cleans me and smells good. Is there really any more that I can ask of it? The exfoliating scrub is really nice too; not too harsh, and leaves my skin really soft after showering. The body butter isn't quite up to the same standard, but I may have been spoiled by all my L'Occitance freebies. I can't really use it in the morning, because it takes too long to soak in properly, but it's actually pretty nice to schlap on before I go to bed at night. And it doesn't make my shins scream out in agony if I use it after shaving, which is kind of unusual for me.
The verdict: cheap fun, without completely compromising on quality. Just don't read the ingredients lists if you like your natural products, okay?

Pomegranate is fantastic. It's such an underrated scent IMO. I can't wait until my current shower gel runs out so I can get it in the new Pomegranate scent!

I hate spending money on this stuff, too, but I'm a sucker for yummy scents. This looks like a fun line.
The packaging is pretty! I wouldn't mind them sitting in my shower. Plus, like you said, you can't really go wrong for that kind of price...
